Build a Customer Portal for Your SaaS with AI

A SaaS customer portal is where account admins handle the jobs your support inbox does today: changing plans, adding teammates, checking usage and following up on a ticket. Describe your plans and limits to Mythex and it builds the portal with logins, account-level permissions and a staff side for your team.

Who it's for

Early SaaS teams answering 'how do I add a seat?' and 'where is my invoice?' by email, and running account changes by hand in the database because there is no self-serve page yet.

What you can build

  • Account admins inviting and removing team members
  • Plan and billing details with past invoices
  • Usage against plan limits with a warning near the cap
  • Support tickets with status and replies
  • A feature request board with votes and status
  • A staff view of every account, its plan and history

Show usage before customers hit the wall

Put each limit on the portal's first screen: seats used of seats allowed, projects, API calls or bookings this month. Add a gentle warning at around 80% with an upgrade link. Customers who can see the limit coming upgrade on their own terms; a hard block in the middle of their work turns into an angry ticket.

  • Each plan limit with current usage
  • A warning before the cap
  • Upgrade from the same screen

Accounts, roles and data separation

SaaS portals have two layers: the account (the company) and its users. Ask for account admins who manage members and billing, regular members who see only what applies to them, and strict separation so no account ever sees another's data, including in shared spaces. Your own staff get an internal view across accounts with an audit trail of changes.

Tickets and requests in one place

Let customers file a support ticket or a feature request from the portal and see its status. Tag requests by product area and count votes per account, weighted by plan if you like. When you ship, close the request and the customers who asked see it, which is a cheap way to show the product moving.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not hide invoices behind an email request; enterprise customers need to download them with their purchase order number. Do not let any member remove the account admin. And keep the portal separate from the marketing site so a site change cannot break sign-in.

A prompt to start from

Build a customer portal for my SaaS. Each account has a plan with limits (seats, projects, monthly API calls) and members with roles admin or member. Admins invite and remove members, see past invoices with PO numbers, and see usage against each limit with a warning at 80%. Customers file support tickets and feature requests and see their status. Give my team a staff view of all accounts.

Questions

Can customers change their own plan?

Yes. The portal can show plans and let an admin switch. Charging the card for the change needs a payment provider you connect with your own account.

Can each company have several users?

Yes. Accounts hold members with roles, and admins manage who has access. Data stays separated by account.

Can it read usage from my product?

If your product is built in Mythex, the portal reads the same database. If it runs elsewhere, you can send usage to the portal through an API endpoint Mythex builds, or import it.

Do I need to code?

No. You describe the portal and change it in chat. On Pro you can edit the code, export it and connect GitHub.

How much does it cost?

The Free plan needs no card and gives daily credits to build and publish. Pro is $25/month and adds a custom domain, code editing, export and GitHub.
