Convenience Store Apps: Local Delivery, Stock Counts and Rotas
Mythex builds the software a corner shop actually uses: a website with correct holiday hours, a local delivery shop with slots and substitutions, a stock list that writes your wholesale order, and a rota that puts someone trained on age checks on every late shift. You describe it, check the preview and publish.
Running a shop that is open when others are shut
A convenience store lives on long hours and small baskets: papers and coffee at 6am, bread and milk at lunchtime, the off-licence and top-up shop in the evening. The weekly wholesale order is often written by walking the aisles with a notepad, which misses the line that sold out on Saturday and over-orders the one nobody buys. Paper rounds run from a handwritten list of houses and holds. Regular delivery customers, often older people, order much the same every week by phone. Software earns its place here by turning shelf counts, rounds, orders and shifts into lists that do not depend on the owner remembering everything.
- Accurate opening hours, including bank holidays and late nights
- Reorder levels on fast lines so the wholesale list writes itself
- Expiry dates on chilled and fresh stock
- Paper rounds with holds and monthly bills
- Shifts covered by staff confident with age-restricted sales
What you can build for convenience stores
A stock list that writes the cash-and-carry order
Count by aisle on a phone, set a reorder level on each fast-moving line, and the app produces the wholesale order from whatever is below its level. Chilled and fresh items carry expiry dates so you see what needs reducing before it becomes waste.
Build a stock app for my convenience store. Items have name, aisle, supplier, pack size, cost, quantity on shelf, reorder level and expiry date for chilled items. Let me count by aisle on my phone, then generate a wholesale order list of everything below its reorder level, grouped by supplier. Show items expiring in the next three days.
A local delivery shop with substitutions
Customers in your postcode order groceries and essentials for a delivery slot, with a minimum order. They choose whether they accept substitutions when something is out. Age-restricted items are flagged so the driver knows to check ID at the door under local rules.
Build an online shop for local grocery delivery from a convenience store. Products are grouped by aisle, customers enter a postcode to check we deliver, pick a delivery slot, and choose whether to accept substitutions. Minimum order £15. Flag alcohol and tobacco orders so the driver checks ID on delivery.
A rota that covers early, late and age checks
Mornings, evenings and weekends each need cover, and the late shift is where difficult sales happen. The rota marks which staff have completed age-restricted sales training and warns you when a shift has nobody trained. Paper round drivers and holiday cover sit on the same plan.
Build a staff rota for a convenience store open 6am to 11pm. Shifts are early, mid and late, plus paper rounds at 5:30am. Mark which staff are trained for age-restricted sales and warn me if a late shift has nobody trained. Staff can see their shifts and request holidays.
A website people find at 10pm on a bank holiday
People search for an open shop on public holidays and late at night. A simple site with correct hours, holiday changes, your delivery area and services such as parcel pickup or paper delivery wins those visits.
Build a website for our corner shop with opening hours, a holiday hours section I can update, our delivery area and minimum order, newspaper delivery sign-up, and services we offer like parcel collection and phone top-ups.
Monthly paper bills that show the stopped days
Newspaper customers pay monthly, and disputes come from holidays and stopped days. Bills list what was delivered and which days were held, and local offices that buy on account get proper invoices with delivery fees on their own line.
Build monthly billing for our newspaper rounds. Each customer has their papers per day, holds with start and end dates, and a delivery fee. Generate a monthly bill showing delivered days and held days, and mark bills paid.
Regulars and their usual order
Housebound or older customers often order the same things each week. Saving their usual order, drop-off notes and phone number turns a ten-minute call into a quick repeat order.
Build a customer list for our delivery regulars with address, phone, drop-off notes, accessibility needs and their usual weekly order. Let me repeat a usual order with one click and change items before saving.
From notepad to stock list
Do not try to enter every product on day one. Start with the 50 lines that sell fastest and run out most: milk, bread, eggs, the main soft drinks, the best-selling crisps and cigarettes. Give each a reorder level based on a normal week. Use the app for the next wholesale order and see what it catches. Add the next aisle each week until the notepad is retired.
- 50 fastest lines first
- Reorder level from a normal week
- One more aisle each week
Age-restricted sales and local rules
Rules on alcohol, tobacco, vapes, lottery and knives differ by country and region, so Mythex will not decide them for you. What it can build is the record keeping: a refusals log staff fill in on a tablet, training dates per staff member, and a flag on delivery orders for items that need an ID check. Tell Mythex the rules you follow and it builds the screens around them.
Questions
Can I take local delivery orders online?
Yes. Ask for a shop with a postcode check, delivery slots and a minimum order. Orders are saved to a database and you see them in an admin list ready to pick.
Can it build my wholesale order from stock levels?
Yes. Set a reorder level on each item, count on your phone, and the app lists everything below its level grouped by supplier. You can print it or take it to the cash and carry.
Can I manage paper rounds?
Describe your rounds, the papers each house takes and how holds work, and Mythex builds the round sheets and monthly bills, including held days.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe what you need in plain language and Mythex builds it with a live preview. You change it by chatting.
Is it free?
The Free plan needs no credit card and gives daily credits, enough to build and publish a first version. Pro is $25 a month for more credits, a custom domain and code editing.
