AI Internal Tool Builder

Mythex is an internal tool builder that works from a description of your workflow: say what happens, who does it and what gets recorded, and it builds the tool with a database, forms and a table view. The spreadsheet three people edit at once becomes an app with statuses and owners.

Who it's for

Operations, finance and HR teams running a process on spreadsheets, chat threads or email, and small companies without engineers to spare for internal requests. A good sign you need one: you have started writing instructions for how to use the spreadsheet.

What you can build

  • An expense claim form with receipt upload and manager approval
  • An equipment tracker showing who has what and since when
  • An onboarding checklist with owners and due dates
  • An admin panel for orders, customers or inventory
  • A request queue with SLA timers and statuses

Four internal tools that usually pay off first

The best first tool fixes one painful step, not the whole department. Describe the workflow as a chain of events, such as "someone submits an expense with a receipt, a manager approves or rejects it, finance sees what is pending", and Mythex builds the form, the queue and the dashboard around it. Keep version one narrow so people actually switch to it.

  • Lead or client tracker with statuses
  • Approval or request flow with a pending queue
  • Onboarding checklist with owners
  • An ops page that replaces the weekly report

How the internal tool builder works for teams

Invite teammates to your Mythex workspace to build together; credits are billed to the workspace owner. Share the preview with two people who will really use the tool before you publish. For the people using the finished tool, ask for login and roles inside the app, which are separate from Mythex accounts. Uploads such as receipts go to the project's file storage, and records go to its database.

Dense, plain and fast

Internal tools should favour speed over decoration. Ask for a compact table with search and filters, a side drawer to edit a row, and keyboard-friendly forms. The same project can later grow a client-facing side, such as a client portal, without moving the data. On Pro a developer can export the code or sync it to GitHub if the tool becomes critical.

A prompt to start from

Build an internal tool for expense claims. An employee submits an expense with amount, category, date and a receipt upload; their manager approves or rejects it with a comment; finance sees a table of approved claims to pay, with filters by month and category. Use a database and file storage, and keep the design plain and dense.

Questions

Can my team log in to the tool?

Yes. Ask for sign-in and roles, such as employee, manager and finance, and Mythex builds them into the app with users stored in your database. These logins are for your tool and are separate from anyone's Mythex account.

Is it better than keeping the spreadsheet?

Keep the spreadsheet if one person owns the data and mistakes cost nothing. Build a tool when several people edit the same rows, steps get skipped, or you need a clear record of who approved what.

Can it connect to Slack or Google Sheets?

Yes, through Mythex's Connectors: link the account once and ask, for example, to post a Slack message when a request is approved. For services outside the catalogue, Mythex can call their API with a key you store as a project secret.

Is there an open-source option?

Mythex itself is a hosted service, but what it builds is ordinary code you can read in the editor. On Pro you can export it or push it to GitHub and run it wherever you like.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe what you want in plain language and Mythex writes the code, shows a live preview, and lets you change things by chatting. The code editor and terminal are there if you ever want them.

Do I have to explain my business every time?

No. Mythex remembers who you are and how you work across every project, and follows the standing notes you set for a project, so you are not re-briefing it in each new chat. You can read, edit or switch all of it off.

How much does it cost?

There is a Free plan with daily credits, enough to build and publish a first version. Pro is $25/month and adds full code editing, GitHub export, custom domains, and credit top-ups.
