Booking, Reminder and Fleet Apps for Vehicle Inspection Centres
Mythex builds the software around the test itself: online booking by lane and vehicle class, reminders driven by each vehicle's due date, retest slots held back at month end, fleet accounts with monthly invoices listing every registration, and a rota that only schedules certified inspectors. Results still go into your official system; this handles everything else.
What an inspection centre needs besides the official test system
An inspection centre lives by due dates. Motorists book when a reminder lands or the deadline is days away, so the last week of each month is packed and the middle is quiet. Cars that fail need a quick retest, often inside a set window, and month end is exactly when there is no room for them. Fleets bring batches of vans and taxis. The official result goes into whatever government system your jurisdiction uses, but the diary, the reminders, the retest list and fleet contacts usually live in a paper book or a monthly printout. Software that runs on registrations and due dates evens out the month.
- Lanes with the vehicle classes each one can test
- Bookings tied to the registration and its due date
- Retest slots protected at month end
- Two reminders before each due date
- Fleet accounts with vehicle lists and monthly invoices
- Inspector certification and renewal dates
What you can build for vehicle inspection centres
Bookings by lane, class and test type
Each lane takes certain classes, so a motorcycle or large van only sees lanes that can take it. Full inspections and retests have separate durations. The registration is captured at booking and linked to the vehicle's history. Some last-week capacity is held for retests and opens to everyone a day or two before.
Build a booking system for my vehicle inspection centre with three lanes, each handling certain vehicle classes (cars, light vans, motorcycles). Customers enter their registration and vehicle class and choose a full inspection or a retest, each with its own duration. Hold back 20% of slots in the last week of each month for retests and release them 48 hours before.
Due-date reminders that replace the monthly printout
Each vehicle has registration, make, model, last result and next due date. Motorists with several vehicles are one contact; fleets have staggered due dates. Reminders go out well ahead and again closer to the date, and the history shows who booked after which nudge. Sending uses an email or SMS service on your own account.
Make a CRM for a vehicle inspection centre. Vehicles have registration, make, model, last test date, result and next due date, linked to an owner who may have several. Send a reminder 30 days and 7 days before each due date through my email or SMS service, and record whether the motorist booked.
A site with the easy failures listed
Say which vehicle classes you test, your hours and walk-in policy, and how retests work, with a reminder to check the rules where the motorist lives. Add a checklist of easy failures: bulbs, wipers, washer fluid, tread, warning lights. Fewer cars fail on trivial items and your lanes spend less time on low-value retests.
Build a website for a vehicle inspection centre listing the vehicle classes we test, opening hours and walk-in policy, how retests work, a pre-inspection checklist of common easy failures like bulbs, wipers, washer fluid and tyre tread, and a booking button.
A rota that checks certification
Only inspectors with a current certification for that class are scheduled on a lane. Renewal dates trigger a warning weeks before expiry, month-end shifts add cover, and desk staff are rostered separately.
Build a staff rota for my inspection centre. Inspectors have certifications per vehicle class with expiry dates; only certified inspectors can be assigned to a lane. Warn me 6 weeks before any certification expires, add extra month-end shifts, and roster front desk staff separately.
Monthly fleet invoices by registration
Fleet managers reconcile inspections against their vehicle list. One monthly invoice listing every registration, test date and result gets approved quickly. Fees use the rates you configure, since some places set them by regulation.
Create an invoicing app for an inspection centre with my configured fee per test type, optional retest fees, and a monthly fleet invoice listing each registration, test date and result.
Next month's demand from your own due dates
Count vehicles due next month from your records, set it against lane capacity, and show pass and fail rates by vehicle age and failure category plus reminder response rates.
Make a dashboard for my vehicle inspection centre showing vehicles due next month against lane capacity, inspections per day, pass and fail rates by vehicle age and failure category, and bookings after each reminder.
Fill the middle of the month with fleets
Fleet managers value predictability. Offer set mid-month days for batches of vans, taxis or hire cars, one contact and one invoice, on a landing page with a form for vehicle count, types and preferred days. It smooths the month-end crush and fills lanes that would otherwise sit idle.
What stays in the official system
Test results, certificates and anything your regulator requires go into the official system as they do today. Mythex does not connect to government test systems. Keep the app to bookings, reminders, fleet records, rotas and invoices, and record only the result summary you need for reminders.
- Official results: the regulator's system
- Bookings, reminders, rota, invoices: your app
- Result summary copied for the next due date
Questions
Can it connect to the official inspection system?
No. Mythex does not connect to government test systems. You keep entering results there and use the app for bookings, reminders, fleets and staff.
Can it send inspection reminders automatically?
Yes, from each vehicle's due date, through an email or SMS service you connect under your own account.
Can customers book a retest online?
Yes. Retests can be a separate booking type with their own length, and you can protect retest capacity at month end.
Do I need to code?
No. You describe the app and change it by chatting.
Is it free?
The Free plan needs no credit card and gives daily credits, enough to build and publish a first version. Pro is $25/month.
