Riding School Booking That Matches Riders to Horses
Mythex lets a riding school build lesson booking that records each rider's ability, height and weight, horse allocation with a daily workload limit, lesson blocks that count down, and pages for pony days and own-a-pony weeks. Describe your yard in chat, try it in the preview and publish it.
What the chalkboard is really doing
Every lesson is a matching problem. A nervous seven-year-old needs the steady lead-rein pony, an adult returner needs a quiet cob that can carry their weight, and the jumping group needs horses that are sound and fresh. No horse should work lesson after lesson, and the one with a loose shoe waits for the farrier. Saturdays and after-school slots are full with a waiting list, weekday mornings are thin, and holiday pony days sell out the week they open. Rain cancels lessons at eight in the morning. The yard manager holds all of it on a stable door chalkboard. Software helps when it carries the same information, rider and horse together, and refuses an allocation that breaks a welfare rule.
- Rider ability, height and weight on every booking
- Daily lesson limits per horse
- Groups split by ability, not just time
- Farrier and vet visits blocking horses out
- Lesson blocks with remaining sessions
- Waiting lists for Saturday slots
What you can build for horse riding schools
Lessons booked with the horse question answered
Riders book a lesson by level, from lead-rein to jumping, and their ability, height and weight are stored with the booking. Each horse has a daily maximum, and any allocation over it is flagged before the lesson is confirmed. Hacks require a minimum level and cap the group size.
Build a booking system for my riding school. Lessons are grouped by level (lead-rein, beginner, novice, intermediate, jumping). Each rider has ability, height and weight. I allocate horses to riders, each horse has a maximum of lessons per day, and the system warns when I exceed it. Hacks need intermediate level and allow six riders.
Parents see the pony, the time and the instructor's note
Riders and parents see lesson times, the horse they are down to ride, and a one-line note after each lesson on what to work on next. Parents manage bookings and consent forms for every child in the family, and progress milestones like a first canter are recorded.
Create a rider portal for a riding school. Parents log in to see each child's lessons, allocated horse and instructor notes after each lesson, sign consent forms, and see progress milestones like first trot, first canter and first jump.
Lesson blocks that count down
Weekly lessons sold in blocks, paid before the first ride, with the remaining count dropping each time a lesson is marked ridden. Private, semi-private and hack prices are separate. Pony days and own-a-pony weeks take a deposit at booking with the balance due before the week.
Build invoicing for my riding school. Sell lessons in blocks of six paid up front, track lessons left as each is marked ridden, price private, semi-private and hacks separately, and take deposits for holiday pony weeks with the balance due a week before.
Instructors, yard staff and the farrier on one plan
Instructors are matched to lesson levels, yard staff and working pupils get shifts for mucking out, feeds, turnout and tacking up, and farrier, dentist and vet visits take the horse out of the lesson plan for that slot.
Make a schedule for a riding school with instructors assigned to lessons by level, yard staff shifts for mucking out, feeds and turnout, and farrier and vet visits that mark a horse unavailable so it cannot be allocated.
Pony day and return-to-riding pages
A holiday pony day page with ages, times, activities, what to wear and whether lunch is included. A separate page for adults who rode as children, describing the quiet horses and small groups that bring them back.
Make a landing page for our holiday pony days for ages 6 to 12: grooming, a riding lesson, a stable quiz, 9am to 3pm, bring a packed lunch, hats can be borrowed. Add a booking form with child's name, age and riding experience.
Which horses carry the whole program
Hours per horse each week with rest days alongside, lesson occupancy by day and time, and income from lessons, hacks and holiday days. If three schoolmasters carry most beginner lessons, the data makes the case for another horse.
Build a dashboard for my riding school showing lessons per horse per week with rest days, lesson occupancy by weekday and time, and income by lessons, hacks and holiday activities.
State the weight limit as welfare policy
Put your rider weight and height limits on the website and the booking form, with the reason: the welfare of the horses you have. Riders would rather know before they book than at the mounting block. Ask for weight on the form in a neutral way and keep it visible only to staff.
Children, consent and medical notes
Most of your riders are children. Store parental consent, emergency contacts and medical notes such as asthma or allergies with each rider, visible to instructors and not to other families. Check the rules that apply where you operate for working with children and keeping their data.
- Consent signed per child, per year
- Emergency contact on every lesson list
- Medical notes visible to staff only
Questions
Can riders book riding lessons online?
Yes. Riders or parents choose a lesson by level and time, and the booking stores their ability, height and weight so you can allocate a suitable horse.
Can it stop a horse being overworked?
Yes. Give each horse a daily maximum, and the system flags any allocation beyond it. A dashboard can also show weekly hours per horse.
Can I take deposits for pony weeks?
Yes, through a payment provider such as Stripe connected with your own account. The booking records the deposit and the balance due.
Will it work on my phone in the yard?
Yes. Published apps work in a phone browser. On Pro, Mythex can also turn the app into Android and iPhone apps that open your published app.
Do I need to code, and is it free?
No coding is needed; you describe the yard in chat. The Free plan needs no card, and Pro is $25 a month for a custom domain, code editing and more credits.
